FAQs About My Services

What are your hours of operation?

Infant Care and Toddler Care is open 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Before School Care is open 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and After School Care is open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.

How are spots assigned?

Priority is given to families with more than 1 child enrolled, single parent households, and to children enrolled in both Before and After School Care.

What schools do you service?

I service Sonoran Heights Elementary in Surprise, AZ for both Before School and After School Care, and all local schools for After School Care and the Call Reassurance Program

Does your program offer any discounts?

- Yes, Safehaven House gives a 15% discount for enrolling more than one child in Full Day Care and a 10% discount when enrolling your child in both Before School and After School Care programs.
- Yes, Safehaven House gives a 10% discount for enrolling more than one child in the Before School and After School Care program.

Do you provide all day service?

Yes, full day service is offered for Infant and Toddler Care

How do you transport the children to and from school?

The facility is about a 2 minute walk to and from Sonoran Heights Elementary School, and all children are personally escorted to and from the school campus daily.

Does your program offer snacks before and after school?

Yes, a light breakfast is offered daily before school and snacks are provided after school. However, kids are allowed to bring a snack from home. All outside drinks must be in a container with a sealable top or pouch.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have 1 small dachshund that is crated during program hours

What are the activities in the program?

Some of the activities are nap time, group reading, media center, quiet time for test study, homework help, breakfast/snack table, outdoor activities (weather permitting), and indoor board games/puzzles.

When are payments due?

Monthly tuition fees are due by the 1st of the month prior to care. Your child will not be able to attend the Care program until payment is received.

Do I have to pay if my child is absent due to illness?

Yes, your monthly rate secures your child’s slot in the program and ensure adequate staffing for all children. Safehaven House does not give credit for sick days, family vacation or days when a child may go to another person’s home etc.

Does Safehaven House provide a statement for taxes?

No, Safehaven House does not provide a statement for end of the year taxes. Please keep a copy of your cancelled checks or your credit card receipts when paying the tuition. Safehaven House’s EIN# is L-2127315-8.

Additional Information

Registration

Your child must be a registered at Sonoran Heights Elementary School before we can allow enrollment. A non-refundable registration fee and the first month’s payment will be due at the time of registration which will ensure your child's placement. If the program has met capacity at the time of registration, your child will be placed on a waiting list.

Hours & Late Pick-Up Fee

Before School Care is available promptly at 6:00 a.m. and remains open until 10 minutes prior to the school start time. After School Care begins at 3:00 p.m. and remains open until 6:00 p.m. After School Care close promptly at 6:00 p.m. For the purpose of enforcing this schedule, a fee of $10.00 per 15 minutes past closing will be charged for late pick-ups. Should this occur, you will be billed for the late fee on your next invoice.

Financial Agreement

Payments are due the 1st of each month. A $25 late fee will be charged if payment has not been received bythe 5th of each month, August through May. Rates are based on annual fees and days off are factored into the price. If payments are not received by the 15th of the month the child will be dropped from theprogram. The unpaid balance must be paid before the child may continue in the program.

Payment Methods

Walk-in payments are due by the 1st of each month, November 2016 through May 2017, and August through May each year that follows.
All payments must be in the form of cash, credit card, cashier’s check, or money order.

Homework

The Care Director will allocate time for children to do their homework and will provide a place to work with supervision every day. It is the child’s responsibility to take advantage of homework time and ask for assistance if needed.

Sign Out Procedure

For your child’s safety, only parents, legal guardians, or authorized parties listed on the emergency card may sign a child in and out of the program each day on the designated sign in/out sheet. If an individual who is listed on the emergency card is under the age of 18, additional authorization consisting of a written, notarized letter from the parent(s) or legal guardian will be required. Photo identification will be required at all times in order to sign a child out of the program. The individual signing the child out will be required to provide a photo ID. Information listed on the photo ID will be verified against the information on the emailed document. Please understand that for the safety of your child, we will not release your child until verification is made.
