A Little About Myself
Hello,
My name is Natashchia Aings, the Child Care Director of Safehaven House. I am a devoted mother of 2 (a son & a daughter), a proud grandmother, and doting wife. My family moved from Phoenix to Surprise, AZ, in early 2009 and love the family atmosphere and sense of community that the city has afforded us to raise our children in. While my professional background is the health insurance industry, I have over 20 years experience providing care for children. I have Level One Fingerprint Clearance and am CPR and First Aid certified.
My awareness of a need for before and after school child care deepened when my family was faced with the tough decision of balancing inflexible work schedules with the peace of mind of seeing our children off to school, and being there to welcome them home each day. Fortunately, we devised a plan that ensured safety for our kids without impacting our careers, but it was not easy.
Reliable childcare vs. “when is my child old enough to stay home without supervision” is a choice many parents and guardians are faced with daily; and upon asking for help, I realized I was not alone. According to American Academy of Child & Adolescents Psychiatry, “Every day thousands of children arrive home from school to an empty house. Every week thousands of parents make decisions to leave children home alone while they go to work, run errands, or for social engagements. It is estimated over 40% of children are left home at some time.”
Safehaven House was developed in the hope of being a bridge in the community offering safe, supervised care that allows parents / guardians an alternative care option without compromising the duties of work.
